Feather-Leaf Pimpinel is a perennial hairless herb, up
to 1 m tall. Leaves are stalked, up to 15 cm long, double-compound;
leaflets oval to ovate, incised; leaf bases sheathing.
Flower-cluster-stalks are 3-15 cm long, with an involucre of 5-6 linear
white margined bracts. Umbels are 4-10 cm across. Rays are 4-10, slender,
2-6 cm long, with
involucel of 5-6 white margined bractlets. Flower-stalks are 1-2.5 cm
long, thread-like. Sepal-cup teeth are obsolete. Petals are white,
broad-ovate, below hairy, tip notched with incurved lobule. Fruit is
ovoid to almost spherical, 2-3 mm long, hairless; ridges thin, not
prominent. Feather-Leaf Pimpinel is a common plant in the Himalayas in
India and W. Pakistan, and in China, at altitudes of 2000-2500 m.
